Milano Design week – Salone del Mobile 2018
WELLNESS, SALUS PER AQUAM is the Iris Ceramica Group’s exhibition project developed by Archilinea for the Group’s featuring at Salone del Bagno 2018, an event within the Salone del Mobile of Milan.
Archilinea has been chosen in order to design the total look for Iris Ceramica Group’s leading brands – Iris Ceramica, Fiandre Architectural Surfaces, FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti, Ariostea and SapienStone – displaying the ultimate flagship products range of big 300×150 cm slabs within a space devised to enhance their aesthetic qualities, hi-tech features and worth in the design world.
Enclosed within a structure marked by pure forms and partitions that highlight the continuity of the ceramic material, the concept of bathroom is explored at 360 °, expanded and transformed into an environment for relax and well-being in general. No longer just exclusively a service space, but a prolongation of daily activities related to personal care, the bathroom become an emotional interior where everyone can devote to himself all the time that he desire. The key concept of the project is linked to the perception of less pragmatic forms and functions, such as experiences, but more and more present in everybody’s life. We move from needs to desires to reality, from the analysis of actual necessities to listening to subjective emotions. In this way the casing becomes a treasure chest inspired by the cabinet de curiosité and the sixteenth-century Wunderkammer.
In the first room, dedicated to welcoming visitors, the semi-circular counter covered with precious strips and the chandelier with ceramic petals are the masters. Then a journey of discovery begins. The intent was to place ceramic tiles inside inspirational worlds, able to arouse site-specific emotions. Curiosity is the engine of everything and every corner is ready to welcome new mirabilia: the ceramic material, used with emphasis to cover furnishings, accessories and construction details, offers innovative, original and unusual ideas.
Along the exhibition path, there is an alternation of solutions with a strong aesthetic impact, evocative scenarios, new uses of ceramic slabs that aim to create an intimate place that reflects the personality of those who live it.
The refined and ultra-high-performance ceramic surfaces applied to the floor and covering recall the colours, tones and the tactile appeal of natural elements, the washbasins of the most diverse forms become furnishing objects, the showers bring the services of a SPA into everyone’s home.
The areas located on the upper level are dedicated to the guests’ entertainment and can be reached by following a staircase that hides what is on the mezzanine floor behind the high walls that enclosed it.
Ceramic slabs become an essential element of this design idea, able to blend style and personalization, functionality and innovation without forgetting the luxury and refinement of the details and manufactures proposed.
