Studio

Since 1981, Archilinea has focused on the idea of the project as an extended process, where every decision stems from a mindset that blends creativity, operational awareness, and responsibility. Over time, designing across diverse sectors has built a body of knowledge capable of merging technical expertise with design culture. Each experience generates operational insight that guides decision-making, anticipates critical issues, and identifies the most effective solutions. Deeply rooted in the Sassuolo area—one of Italy’s most advanced industrial districts—Archilinea embraces a technical ethos based on achieving shared goals and ensuring long-term value, recognizing this as a fundamental lesson that shapes its way of thinking about architecture.

Our team

One team,
one vision

Diverse expertise intertwine in a continuous dialogue. Our vision takes shapethrough a collaborative paradigm that transgorms plurality into authorial coherence. The team operates as a single organism, capable of translating complexity and shared decisions into projects with dedication and awareness.

Our Origins

Archilinea was founded in 1981 by Giuseppe Gervasi with a simple yet ambitious vision: to forge our own path, step by step, with our own hands.

Our early years in Castellarano moved at a thoughtful, deliberate pace. In an era when even making a photocopy meant a walk to the local copy shop, that steady rhythm gave us the space to observe, learn, and lay rock-solid foundations. We built our initial reputation through interior design, hospitality projects, and specialized consultancy for the local ceramics industry—designing everything from exhibition stands and showrooms to product catalogues.

A pivotal shift came in 1987 with our relocation to Sassuolo, followed in 1988 by our expansion into the industrial sector with our first production facility assignments. In 1990, Mauro Codeluppi joined founders Giuseppe Gervasi and Monica Rivi as a partner, transforming Archilinea into a structured practice with a expanding team of collaborators.

From those early milestones onward, our growth has been defined by strategic foresight and technological innovation. We were among the first architecture practices in Emilia-Romagna to embrace digital tools—introducing computers and plotters alongside traditional drawing boards—while scaling our multidisciplinary expertise across complex architectural design, public-sector initiatives, and construction management.

Looking back today, our core driving force remains identical to the spirit of 1981: an unwavering determination to innovate, embrace complex challenges, and create lasting architectural value through the talented people who shape Archilinea every day.
