Archilinea for Healthcare: New Community Health Centre Inaugurated in Reggio Emilia

On Thursday, June 18, the new Community Health Centre (Casa della Comunità) and Territorial Operations Centre (COT) in Reggio Emilia were officially inaugurated. The facility is housed within Pavilion V, a historic building located in the Santa Maria Nuova healthcare district.

The project is part of the territorial healthcare enhancement programme promoted by the Local Health Authority of Reggio Emilia (AUSL Reggio Emilia) under Italy's National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). The intervention enabled the restoration and adaptive reuse of the existing building, transforming it into a hub for community-based healthcare and social services designed to support local residents and strengthen access to care.

Archilinea's Experience in Healthcare

This project represents another important milestone in the growth of Archilinea's dedicated Healthcare division.

Healthcare design and construction is a highly specialised field that today accounts for an increasingly significant share of Archilinea's activities and turnover. It requires a careful balance between strict regulatory requirements, technological innovation, sustainability, and spatial flexibility.

The division is led by Architect and Partner Lucia Mosconi, who brings extensive and well-established experience in the healthcare sector.

"Managing the Construction Supervision of a healthcare facility within a historic building is both a complex and rewarding challenge," explains Lucia Mosconi. "At Archilinea, our goal is to ensure that the construction process faithfully translates into a final environment that is efficient for healthcare professionals and welcoming for citizens. We are proud to have achieved this important milestone in Reggio Emilia by working in close collaboration with the contracting authority and the construction companies, sharing a common commitment to an architecture that puts people first."

We would like to thank AUSL Reggio Emilia, Project Manager Eng. Carlotta Tedeschini, the construction companies, and all the professionals whose expertise and dedication contributed to the completion of this important healthcare facility for the local community.
